Role Overview
The Traffic Marshall plays a critical role in managing the flow of delivery vans within the station premises to ensure safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide and monitor van movements safely inside and outside the warehouse area.
- Ensure adherence to traffic rules and safety standards, including speed limits and pedestrian zones.
- Park vans in assigned locations following driver check-in.
- Assist operational teams during the driver check-in and check-out procedures.
- Check delivery and vehicle documentation as necessary.
- Support audits by inspecting parcels loaded or unloaded from vans for inconsistencies.
- Help identify and locate missing or misplaced packages in vans and staging zones.
- Manage and prioritize workload focusing on bottlenecks affecting van traffic flow.
- Report any safety hazards, vehicle damage, or unresolved package concerns to supervisors promptly.
- Collaborate closely with warehouse staff and drivers to enhance operational workflow.
- Maintain health and safety compliance, promoting a hazard-free workplace.
- Implement and enforce safe working practices within the team.
- Carry out safety inspections and warehouse condition checks.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations when they arise.
- Assist with unloading trailers when required.
- Support package sorting supervision.
- Perform general housekeeping and cleaning duties.
- Complete other tasks as assigned to support operations.
