Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Crew Foreman, the Traffic Control Person (Flagger) is responsible for managing safe traffic flow around work sites, ensuring minimal disruption to motorists and pedestrians.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and regulate traffic flow around active worksites using signs, two-way radios, and other tools.
- Adhere strictly to the traffic control plans developed and communicated by Site Supervisors or Crew Forepersons.
- Collaborate with Site Supervisors and fellow Flaggers to maintain efficient traffic movement.
- Engage with pedestrians and motorists courteously when necessary.
- Operate across multiple locations and adapt to varied weather conditions.
- Perform additional assigned duties as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Valid driver's license with capability to travel between multiple sites.
- Possession of a valid Traffic Control Person (TCP) certification.
- Prior experience working as a Flagger or Traffic Control Person.
- Strong communication skills combined with a positive, team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
- Commitment to safety practices, policies, and procedures.
Additional Information
- Compensation ranges from $23 to $27 per hour.
- Full-time, year-round employment with potential for occasional overtime.
