About the Role
This permanent position offers approximately 65 or more hours every two weeks, with varied rosters across morning, afternoon, sleepover, and weekend shifts. Compensation ranges from $24.68 to $30.13 per hour depending on qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Empower and assist individuals with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling lives at home and within their communities.
- Encourage and support the development of daily living skills such as meal preparation and using public transport to increase independence.
- Provide assistance with personal care routines including showering, dressing, and medication management.
- Help clients pursue hobbies and personal interests to enhance engagement and quality of life.
- Guide individuals in adopting healthy lifestyle habits to promote overall well-being.
- Strengthen relationships with family (whānau) and community connections.
Requirements
- A compassionate and people-centered attitude, valuing dignity and well-being of individuals supported.
- Prior experience working in the health or disability sectors supporting people with diverse needs.
- Effective written and oral communication capabilities.
- Physical fitness to provide hands-on support as necessary.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including sleepovers and weekend shifts.
- Possession of a full New Zealand driver’s license.
