About the Institute
The Leibniz Institute for Analytical Sciences – ISAS – e. V. specializes in developing advanced analytical methods to support health research. Its mission is to enhance prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment strategies for diseases such as cardiovascular conditions and cancer by integrating expertise from biology, chemistry, computer science, medicine, pharmacology, and physics. ISAS operates under the Leibniz Association and is funded by the German federal government and its states.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Scientist / Postdoctoral Researcher to join our Proteomics Research Group. This role involves executing and optimizing proteomic analyses within the collaborative project "MikrobiomProCheck," which aims to establish clinical microbiome analyses.
Responsibilities
- Design and conduct proteome analyses contributing to the MikrobiomProCheck project.
- Ongoing refinement and enhancement of sample processing techniques and quantitative proteomic methodologies for project applications.
- Accurate documentation of laboratory experiments and procedures.
- Collaboration with project partners and presentation of scientific findings regularly.
Candidate Profile
- A degree in natural sciences (such as biology, chemistry, physics) or an equivalent qualification.
- Hands-on laboratory experience, preferably in bioanalytics.
- Proficiency in mass spectrometry-based proteomics, including experimental design, execution, and data interpretation.
- Excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and a problem-solving mindset.
- Competence with MS Office tools.
- Willingness to undertake business travel.
- Fluency in written and spoken English; knowledge of German is an advantage.

Additional Information
Applicants not residing locally will receive support from the institute in securing accommodation and managing administrative procedures. The position is full-time, immediately available, and fixed-term until 31 December 2028, linked to project duration. Remuneration follows the German TV-L pay scale under pay group 13. Contract duration complies with the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG).
