Role overview
This opportunity is with a people-operations organization that supports businesses as they expand, with a particular focus on building scalable HR systems and handling the full employee journey. The work is geared toward companies operating in regulated settings such as healthcare and requires strong attention to compliance across multiple states, along with support for remote teams.
What you will do
- Oversee multi-state employment compliance and complete payroll processing through Rippling HRIS.
- Keep employee files complete, accurate, and ready for audit review.
- Lead recruitment end to end, from drafting job descriptions through onboarding new hires.
- Administer employee benefits and create initiatives that improve engagement.
- Support learning, growth, and professional development efforts across the team.
- Advise managers on HR policies and provide practical coaching as needed.
What the role requires
- Between 3 and 5 years of HR experience, including at least 2 years in a generalist role handling several HR functions.
- Solid working knowledge of employment laws in California and Arizona.
- Availability to work full-time during Pacific Time business hours.
- Prior exposure to healthcare or other regulated industries is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is needed; HR credentials such as PHR or SHRM-CP are an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
- Experience with Rippling HRIS and/or a background in a fast-growing startup environment is desirable.
Compensation and benefits
The annual salary range for this role is $65,000 to $75,000. The package also includes medical coverage, a 401(k), paid time off, and a remote-first setup.
