Product Manager - Thermal Generation

About the Role

The Product Manager for Thermal Generation will oversee all related business segments including Heavy Oil, Gas, and Hydrogen plants, Open and Combined Cycle Power Plants, CHP, Waste-to-Energy, District Energy Systems, and decarbonization initiatives. This role is part of the Energy Business Line and focuses on guiding projects across their lifecycle such as Feasibility, Engineering, Project Management, Commissioning, Asset Management, and Operations Support.

Acting as the regional lead for Thermal Generation services in the Middle East, the manager will collaborate with global teams to drive innovation, maintain technical quality, and support sustainable growth.

The role also involves supporting Business Development and Sales teams through technical leadership, bid proposal support, and promoting the company's Thermal Generation expertise internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to and implement regional business strategies aligned with global objectives to expand Thermal Generation offerings.
• Identify growth opportunities in thermal power, hydrogen integration, decarbonization, and related sectors.
• Establish partnerships with utilities, developers, EPCs, technology providers, and governmental bodies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Thermal Generation team to ensure high standards and compliance with company policies and promote a culture of innovation, safety, and excellence.
• Maintain technical expertise across Thermal Power technologies including Gas Turbine and Combined Cycle Plants, CHP, Waste-to-Energy, District Energy, Hydrogen-ready Power Generation, and CCUS.
• Oversee project execution activities including studies, engineering, site supervision, commissioning, and permitting with adherence to best practices and quality standards.
• Manage financial and operational performance of the product line, including budgets, profitability, resource allocation, and regulatory compliance.
• Promote adoption of innovative technologies such as digital twins, predictive maintenance, and energy transition strategies.
• Build and uphold strong client and stakeholder relationships and lead technical presentation and business development efforts.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Power, or Energy Engineering; Master's or MBA preferred.
• At least 15 years of experience in Thermal Power Generation or related sectors, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership or management roles.
• Proven track record managing thermal generation projects, including gas-fired and combined cycle plants, CHP, and Waste-to-Energy.
• Experience with project management, multidisciplinary engineering, client engagement, and business development.
• Familiarity with the Middle East market is highly advantageous.
• Professional registrations such as PE, CEng, or PMP are favorable.
• Excellent communication, commercial awareness, stakeholder management, strategic thinking, and team leadership skills.
