Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative focused on on-premise venues, some chains, and independent retail outlets within Monterey County including Big Sur. This full-time role requires residing within the territory, maintaining a reliable vehicle with a clean driving record, and possessing at least three years of wine sales experience. The role involves managing an existing client base with potential for significant growth.
Responsibilities
- Sell products from the J&L portfolio to established clients and develop new accounts.
- Conduct between 12-20 customer visits daily and maintain communication with 20-25 customers each day.
- Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets and objectives within assigned product lines.
- Engage in professional and informed sales activities to foster business growth.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong product knowledge of wines and spirits.
- College degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perceive customer needs and sales opportunities without excessive pressure tactics.
- Commitment to a professional and ethical sales approach.
- Proven progressive sales experience, preferably in the beverage industry.
- Fluent command of both written and spoken English.
- Physical ability to perform duties including walking, bending, reaching, and lifting weights up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
Compensation and Benefits
- Commission-based remuneration as outlined in the Outside Sales Agreement.
- Additional auto reimbursement and a cell phone allowance.

- Opportunity to earn approximately $90,000 annually from commissions and incentives, averaging $45-50 per hour.
