Role Overview
The Insights Analyst will be responsible for examining data to uncover trends, patterns, and potential risks and opportunities. This role involves creating reporting tools and visualizations predominantly using Power BI, collaborating extensively with stakeholders to understand their data needs, and transforming complex datasets into clear, actionable insights. The position is based at either the Auckland or Wellington offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze diverse datasets to identify meaningful trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Design and develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI.
- Engage with business stakeholders to clarify questions and requirements for data reporting.
- Translate complex data into understandable insights and actionable recommendations.
- Maintain data quality, governance, and reporting standards.
- Support automation and continuous enhancement of reporting processes.
- Effectively communicate findings to both technical staff and business audiences.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience in an Insights Analyst, Data Analyst, or equivalent role.
- Strong proficiency with Power BI and SQL for data manipulation and visualization.
- Capability to work with complex datasets confidently.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
- Experience in developing dashboards and delivering business insights.
- Ability to clearly convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Python or R programming is considered an advantage.
