About Mindrift and the Role

Mindrift is seeking accomplished Full-Stack Web App Developers skilled in JavaScript/TypeScript combined with Python or Node.js to contribute to the Tendem project by creating interactive browser-based applications targeted at practical, real-world scenarios. This part-time remote freelance position suits developers experienced in full-stack development who are adept in frontend frameworks, backend API design, database management, and deploying interactive web products end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Develop engaging web applications using frontend technologies such as React, Next.js, Vue, or similar paired with backends built on Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask) or Node.js (Express)
• Design and maintain database schemas and models employing relational databases like PostgreSQL and SQLite or NoSQL alternatives
• Implement user authentication, session management, and access control mechanisms when required
• Integrate third-party APIs and AI-related services (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) to enhance product functionalities
• Manage application states, validate user inputs, and handle error/loading scenarios effectively
• Construct standalone Python utilities and scripts supporting data processing and backend functions
• Conduct thorough debugging, optimization, and refactoring to elevate application security, performance, and maintenance
• Produce clear, testable code and resolve complex issues spanning frontend, backend, and database systems

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of three years in full-stack web development or in delivering interactive web applications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields is advantageous
• Proven experience across frontend frameworks, backend architectures, databases, and API development
• Strong problem-solving aptitude with keen attention to detail and capability to independently architect and implement full features

Technical Expertise Required

• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript alongside modern frontend frameworks including React, Next.js, Vue, or Svelte
• Experience in backend technologies such as Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django) and/or Node.js variants (Express, NestJS)
• Hands-on skills in relational database management with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQLite, including schema design
• Competence in creating REST APIs with validation, error handling, and authentication workflows
• Familiarity with deploying applications on platforms like Vercel, Netlify, Render, Fly.io, Railway, or equivalents
• Experience integrating large language model APIs or AI services is highly desirable
• Comfort with Git version control and basic software testing methodologies

Additional Requirements

• Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering robust, working applications instead of prototypes
• Self-motivated and able to independently design, build, and launch new features
• Must present a portfolio demonstrating previously launched web applications
• Strong English communication skills at an upper-intermediate (B2) level or higher

Project and Compensation Details

The estimated commitment for project tasks ranges around 10 to 20 hours weekly during active periods, subject to project demand, though this is not a guaranteed workload. Contributors can earn up to $60 per hour equivalent, contingent on expertise and contribution speed. Compensation may vary depending on differing project scopes and complexities. This role offers a fully remote work environment with flexible timing, allowing participants to engage using only a laptop and reliable internet connection.
