About the Company
The role is based at Wellington's largest economy hotel, conveniently located near major venues such as Takina, Te Papa, TSB Arena, and Sky Stadium. The hotel is known for efficiently accommodating large groups and features the vibrant Vivant restaurant offering buffet breakfasts and à la carte lunch and dinner options.
Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate Food & Beverage Supervisor to lead the team in delivering exceptional dining experiences for guests. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will oversee the smooth operation of the restaurant and bar during shifts, ensuring high standards and guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Support seamless functioning of the Food & Beverage department.
- Create welcoming and memorable dining experiences for all guests.
- Maintain continuous communication across all departments.
- Ensure team members are confident and knowledgeable in selling menu items, beverages, and hotel services.
- Supervise and guide the on-duty team to complete tasks and deliver excellent guest service.
- Train and mentor staff on departmental policies, procedures, and product knowledge.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to drive business growth.
- Promote the Accor Live Limitless loyalty program as a key benefit to customers.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A strong passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
- Experience supervising in a similar food and beverage role.
- Demonstrated leadership and team motivation abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for communication with internal staff and external guests.
- Ability to solve problems effectively while maintaining composure under pressure.
- Superior time management and communication capabilities.
- Flexibility to work a rotating 7-day roster with morning shifts starting at 6am and afternoon shifts at 3pm.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a current General Manager (GM) Certificate; candidates must hold an LCQ certificate and have at least 3 months of supervisory experience at a licensed premises in New Zealand.
- First aid certification is advantageous.
- Must be a New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid work visa without requirement for sponsorship.

- The position is full-time at 40 hours weekly on a rotating roster basis covering seven days.
