Position Overview
The role of First Cook is based in a private school cafeteria, reporting to the Executive Chef. The primary responsibility is the timely and proper preparation of meals, including breakfast and lunch, while ensuring compliance with food safety and kitchen cleanliness standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and food storage spaces at all times.
- Prepare nutritious, high-quality meals following menu plans and budget constraints aligned to client schedules.
- Adapt meal preparation to accommodate client preferences and needs as they arise.
- Comply with Occupational Health and Safety standards and Safe Food Handling/Health Unit regulations.
- Follow all relevant company and campus policies and procedures.
- Manage food inventory effectively.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt.
- Previous catering experience preferred.
- At least two years in a cook position.
- Possession of Level 1 Food Safe Certificate.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
