Role Overview
The Engineering Team Leader will oversee and support the engineering department to ensure the hotel’s facilities, equipment, and systems are maintained safely, efficiently, and with a focus on guest satisfaction. Maintenance operations must comply with operational guidelines, safety protocols, and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct daily engineering activities, allocate tasks, and monitor team performance.
- Perform and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance on all hotel equipment, guest rooms, and public areas.
- Respond swiftly to maintenance issues and breakdowns to minimize guest disturbance.
- Assist the Chief Engineer in planning maintenance schedules, manpower distribution, and prioritization of tasks.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and fire life safety regulations continuously.
- Monitor and manage energy consumption to support cost reduction and efficiency initiatives.
- Keep detailed records, logs, and reports of maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to facilitate uninterrupted operations.
- Help train, mentor, and develop the engineering team’s skills and performance.
- Oversee external contractors to guarantee quality and safety compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or technical certification in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in hotel engineering or facility maintenance.
- Demonstrated prior supervisory or team leadership experience is desirable.
- Comprehensive technical understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and general maintenance operations.
- Strong knowledge of safety practices, preventive maintenance protocols, and regulatory compliance.
