Role Overview

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Data Science and Advanced Analytics team within the Technology division. This role supports impactful data-driven projects in collaboration with teams across commercial strategy, sales execution, and operations. Your work will focus on solving complex business challenges through advanced analytics and machine learning applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Employ statistical and machine learning methods to address business needs such as demand forecasting, pricing strategy, and product optimization.
• Develop and refine models that explain demand drivers and pricing elasticity, ensuring actionable, reliable business insights.
• Create analytical tools and processes to improve promotional effectiveness and trade spend decisions.
• Contribute to analytics efforts supporting operational planning and execution enhancement.
• Design clear data visualizations and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable recommendations for commercial, sales, and operations stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in quantitative or technical disciplines such as Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Engineering; Master’s degree is an asset.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in data science, applied machine learning, or advanced analytics with a business focus.
• Strong ability to handle large, complex datasets with proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with a variety of statistical and machine learning techniques including regression and tree-based models, plus optimization methods.
• Knowledge of demand forecasting, elasticity modeling, promotional analysis, or scenario modeling.
• Exposure to Databricks and Azure data platforms is advantageous.
• Skilled in data visualization tools, preferably Power BI or Tableau.
• Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-driven with a proactive approach to navigating ambiguity and suggesting innovative analytical strategies.

Work Setting and Salary

• Based in Toronto with a hybrid work schedule requiring at least three in-office days weekly (Tuesday to Thursday), with remaining days flexible for remote work.
• Annual base salary range of $82,800 to $105,000, dependent on factors including experience, expertise, and internal equity.
