Position Overview

Casual or contract cleaners will undertake on-site cleaning tasks at residential and commercial locations in Newcastle, NSW. Daily duties include sanitizing surfaces, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning kitchens and bathrooms, waste removal, and some light outdoor cleaning as required. Those with additional expertise may assist in specialized duties such as estate cleaning and handling sensitive environments, always under supervision and following clear protocols. Adherence to safety guidelines, proper equipment use, and prompt issue reporting are critical for the role. This is a full-time position demanding consistent attendance, professionalism, and compliance with company standards.

Qualifications and Expectations

• Proven practical skills in cleaning, including surface sanitization and floor and bathroom/kitchen upkeep.
• Possession or willingness to obtain an NDIS worker screening clearance.
• Capability to follow cleaning checklists and safety instructions carefully.
• Excellent time management abilities like punctuality and efficient task handling.
• Strong communication skills to interact professionally with supervisors, colleagues, and clients.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a positive and respectful demeanor.
• Physical capacity to perform manual labor involving lifting, bending, and extended standing.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, based on client requirements.
• Prior experience in residential or commercial cleaning is preferred; specialized or sensitive cleaning know-how is advantageous.
• Holding a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation is desirable to reach different job sites around Newcastle.
• Dedication to confidentiality and professionalism, particularly in estate and sensitive cleaning assignments.
