Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate critical plant systems including Boiler, Turbine, Generator, BOP, electrical systems, switchyard, and transformer areas.
  • Execute start-up and shut-down procedures and routinely change over equipment while conducting emergency drive trials.
  • Respond effectively to plant emergencies involving Boiler-Turbine-Generator systems and switchyard/grid disruptions, ensuring safe isolation and recovery of equipment.
  • Manage Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) system operations and maintain accurate logbooks for plant parameters.
  • Promote energy-saving measures focusing on specific oil consumption, auxiliary power consumption, demineralized water use, and heat rate optimization.
  • Monitor key chemical parameters to maintain environmental compliance and efficient plant performance.
  • Ensure adherence to institutional guidelines (IMS, AWMS, DISHA, CHETNA), safety protocols, permit to work systems, and SOPs.
  • Report defects or operational issues promptly to the shift in charge.
  • Drive digitization and automation initiatives to improve operational efficiencies and implement new technologies and processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • At least 6 years of experience in thermal power plant operations.
  • Preferred experience in the power generation industry specifically with thermal power plants.
