Assistant Site Manager

Role Overview

The Assistant Site Manager position at GrainCorp located in Elmore, Victoria involves supporting grain handling operations with a focus on safety and efficiency. The role plays a part in coordinating a team to manage grain receival, storage, and dispatch via road and rail, contributing directly to the operational success of the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Grain Handlers to safely and effectively execute grain handling through receival, storage, and outload processes.
• Manage daily workflow coordination and assist in recruiting, training, and developing both permanent and casual staff members.
• Maintain strong relationships with growers, customers, local community groups, and internal company stakeholders.
• Support the Site Manager in budgeting, financial planning, and achieving operational targets such as cost per tonne, haulage rates, and key performance indicators related to receival and outload.
• Assist with resource planning for grain receival and outload during peak and off-peak periods.
• Contribute to the organization and implementation of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, grain protection, safety and quality assurance activities including relevant reporting.
• Oversee the supervision of a sizable seasonal workforce through the busy harvest season across multiple sites.
