About the Role
Join an innovative AI development initiative as an Aeronautical Engineer with expertise in CAD and Python. The role supports the creation of cutting-edge AI models by documenting how experienced engineers tackle practical CAD design and validation challenges, contributing valuable insights for AI training.
Key Responsibilities
- Design 3D-printable physical objects utilizing open-source CAD tools such as FreeCAD or KiCad.
- Execute engineering design assignments while continuously recording your workflow, including tool usage, user interactions, and design strategies, to aid AI model training in engineering problem-solving.
- Develop and run Python scripts for design validation processes to enhance workflow efficiency.
- Engage in projects of varying complexity: from short tasks (~4 hours) to extensive endeavors (~40-50 hours).
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering or a closely aligned discipline.
- Proficient use of open-source CAD software for engineering design purposes.
- Python programming competence, especially for scripting and automation tasks, is desirable but not mandatory.
- Experience authoring validation scripts rather than solely operating existing tools is advantageous.
- Comfortable using command line interfaces and familiar with Linux and/or Windows systems.
- Strong analytical mindset paired with meticulous attention to detail.
- Reliable high-speed internet access and a personal computing device are essential.

Hourly compensation can be up to $120 during main study phases.
