Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced, engaging Programme Facilitator based in central Auckland to lead group and individual sessions, including the KIDshine programme. This role focuses on supporting children and young people living in refuge/safe-house environments and those affected by family violence. Shine delivers a spectrum of innovative services annually supporting thousands of women, children, and families through direct intervention, specialist programmes, and training.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured family violence programmes tailored for children and whānau impacted by abuse.
  • Create safe, inclusive learning environments that foster skill building, confidence, and wellbeing.
  • Engage participants effectively, building rapport and facilitating meaningful group interactions.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with external organizations and community partners.
  • Represent Shine in community settings, networking to strengthen collaborative efforts.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A relevant tertiary qualification such as Social Work or Counselling, with current or progressing professional registration.
  • A minimum of three years facilitating family violence programmes within social service frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of family violence dynamics and their impact on all affected individuals.
  • Proficient facilitation skills capable of fostering engagement and nurturing safe spaces.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for community engagement and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Confident knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its practice in social services.
