Opportunity Overview
Join Auckland Council as a People Advisor, acting as the initial point of contact for our employees by providing reliable, consistent, and prompt HR advice and assistance. Your role will be crucial in fostering organisational growth by enabling staff to effectively utilize HR systems, tools, and resources.
This dynamic phone-focused role involves managing both inbound and outbound calls within a bustling environment. You will support a diverse cohort of over 8,000 employees by addressing various HR inquiries and ensuring a positive and people-focused experience in every interaction.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should have a minimum of three years’ experience as a trusted business advisor with a strong background in operational HR support. Experience in a high-volume, client-centered environment is preferred, alongside a high degree of emotional intelligence and resilience to handle challenging situations.
Knowledge of New Zealand employment laws or Auckland Council's employment policies will be advantageous. The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills, capable of multitasking and maintaining organisation under pressure. Proficiency with internal technological tools is essential, as is maintaining professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information.

Additional Information
This is a Band F position with an expected salary range of NZD 78,000 to NZD 82,000 per year, dependent on experience and skills. Applications will close at 11:59 PM on Monday, 17th August 2026.
