Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee regulatory compliance programs and safety management systems within the In-Flight department in alignment with Canadian aviation regulations.
  • Manage and monitor in-flight safety case investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions, adhering to company KPIs and safety policies.
  • Implement and maintain the Line Operations Safety Audit (LOSA) initiative.
  • Collaborate with the Cabin Safety Manager to develop standardized cabin safety policies, procedures, and evaluation criteria.
  • Provide expert guidance on Canadian Aviation Regulations, Commercial Air Service Standards, and other relevant regulatory materials to ensure compliance.
  • Continuously monitor and adapt to regulatory changes including IOSA, TCCA, FAA, CARs, and similar standards to maintain compliance.
  • Review and approve Flight Attendant Manuals and training program updates prior to Transport Canada submission.
  • Administer the Training Monitoring Program, offering improvement suggestions to enhance flight attendant training quality and engagement.
  • Support the introduction of new aircraft types by providing cabin safety expertise.
  • Document and maintain critical in-flight quality processes in operational manuals.
  • Drive ongoing cabin safety improvement culture and lead related projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Aviation, Safety Management, or closely related field preferred.
  • Completion of Transport Canada-approved Flight Attendant Manager training or designation is advantageous.
  • Possession of current or prior Transport Canada Flight Attendant Manager designation under CASS 725.07 is a strong asset.
  • At least 5 years experience applying 705 Commercial Air Services regulations and related manuals, standards, and procedures.
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in cabin safety regulation at a multi-crew jet operator, focusing on program design, delivery, or quality oversight.
  • Expertise in Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), Commercial Air Service Standards (CASS), Advisory Circulars, Cabin Safety, LOSA, IOSA, and training program management.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and root cause analysis capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with proficiency in developing compliant documentation and reports.
  • Well-developed organizational skills to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various teams and regulatory bodies.
  • Clear criminal record and satisfactory references required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a restricted area identity card (RAIC).
  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada without restrictions.
