About the Role
Join SMEC as a Graduate Engineer or Scientist within our Water Resources team as part of a dynamic two-year Graduate Development Program (GDP). This program aims to rapidly enhance your expertise by combining practical project experience with structured training, mentorship, and interdisciplinary exposure. Completion of the program leads to a professional title advancement based on your technical discipline and sustained career growth defined by development, experience, goals, and aspirations.

Principal Duties
- Assist in delivering water resource initiatives involving flood assessments, modeling, and data analysis
- Participate in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to understand water dynamics including flood and drainage scenarios
- Analyze technical data and model results to help inform project decisions
- Collaborate with team members on integrated modeling, design, and reporting efforts
- Develop proficiency in industry-standard software and best practices through both formal learning and practical assignments
Candidate Profile
We are looking for driven Graduates who are passionate about solving problems, engaging in team environments, and contributing to impactful projects.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Environmental Science or closely related field
- Basic experience or understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software such as TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, or Source
- Familiarity with stormwater design and modeling tools like 12D or Drains is advantageous
