About the Role

Hugo’s Interiors is looking for a diligent and imaginative Design Assistant to join our Jacksonville team. This full-time role is Monday through Friday, providing a competitive pay structure along with commission potential and a comprehensive benefits plan.

Role Overview

The Design Assistant will collaborate directly with two interior designers, offering support throughout client projects from conceptualization to finalization. This position suits individuals passionate about client interaction, furnishings, fabrics, color theory, and design within a dynamic retail and design setting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Support two interior designers with client projects and daily operational tasks.
• Manage and maintain the design resource library, samples, and vendor files in an organized manner.
• Assist in creating drawings, presentations, and selecting project materials.
• Liaise with vendors to monitor product details, availability, and orders.
• Engage clients in the showroom to enhance the retail sales experience.
• Assist in coordinating project specifics from the initial concept through to installation.
• Ensure the design environment remains organized, inviting, and professional.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in retail sales is preferred.
• Familiarity with CAD and/or SketchUp software applications.
• Solid understanding of color theory, design principles, proportion, and scale.
• Knowledgeable about furniture, fabrics, lighting, accessories, and design vendors.
• Excellent organizational and communication capabilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail with ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines.
• Positive, professional demeanor with a strong teamwork orientation.
• Authentic enthusiasm for interior design and delivering exceptional customer service.
