About the Role
Join Spark New Zealand in Christchurch as a strategic data leader focused on operational intelligence, analytics, AI, and automation. This leadership role involves shaping competitive advantage through data-driven insight and risk intelligence within one of New Zealand's top technology companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Spark's operational intelligence, analytics, and insights team to deliver impactful business intelligence.
- Create and manage insightful reporting, forecasting, and performance analyses that empower decision-making at operational and executive levels.
- Drive projects utilizing AI, machine learning, automation, and advanced analytics to boost productivity, enhance customer experiences, and optimize commercial results.
- Enhance fraud prevention, risk intelligence, and revenue protection strategies by proactively spotting threats, weaknesses, and industry trends.
- Oversee technology pilots, proofs of concept, and innovation efforts from conception through to business impact.
- Design dashboards, performance metrics, and data visualization tools that increase transparency and encourage action.
- Build and nurture a high-caliber team of analytics, intelligence, and specialized professionals.
- Collaborate with senior leaders across Finance, Technology, Product, Risk, Legal, and Customer divisions with evidence-based insights and commercial recommendations.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience managing data-driven teams focusing on analytics, business intelligence, or operational intelligence.
- Ability to transform complex data sets into actionable insights and tangible business outcomes.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving expertise, especially with large datasets and operational performance indicators.
- Commercially savvy with capability to link operational results to customer and business goals.
- Demonstrated success leading process improvements, automation, or business transformation initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, capable of translating findings for diverse audiences.
- Experience mentoring or coaching high-performing analytics teams.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with Power BI, Snowflake, or other modern data platforms.
- Background in AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, or automation technologies.
- Exposure to fraud analytics, risk intelligence, revenue assurance, or revenue protection domains.
- Experience working in large and complex organizational environments.
