Position Overview
The Assistant Welcome Desk Agent plays a vital role in ensuring smooth guest experiences by managing check-ins, payments, and resolving guest issues with professionalism and care at West Crescent, Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle problem payments such as credit card processing issues and expedite their resolution.
- Follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction concerning any guest-related concerns.
- Manage guest check-ins by confirming reservations, assigning rooms, issuing and activating room keys.
- Process various payment methods including room charges, cash, checks, debit, and credit transactions accurately.
- Create precise accounts for guests upon check-in considering sharewiths and separate charges for rooms, taxes, incidentals, or complimentary stays.
- Proactively anticipate full occupancy scenarios and arrange suitable alternative accommodations when required.
- Block rooms in the system as needed and attend to special requests or designated requirements.
- Coordinate with relevant departments like Bellperson and Housekeeping to resolve guest requests and ensure room readiness.
- Review shift logs and daily memos; document important information in logbooks.
- Manage cash bank counts at shift start and end, and perform balancing and receipt drops following accounting guidelines.
- Support management by assisting with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, and coaching staff, embodying fair treatment and open-door policies.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; complete requisite safety training and certifications.
- Uphold company policies, maintain a professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary data.
- Communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing; handle telephone calls with appropriate etiquette.
- Build and nurture positive working relationships.
- Adhere to quality standards and expectations consistently.
- Capable of standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and handling objects up to 10 pounds as needed.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum education requirement: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least one year of related work experience is preferred.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No licenses or certifications necessary.
