Role Overview

An opening is available at the busy Wick factory for a Workshop Mechanical Technician to support the production of harsh-environment and marine CCTV systems for both existing and new customers in the UK and overseas.

This is a full-time on-site role with working hours of 37 per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Duties

• Carry out CNC milling and turning work.
• Set up and run manual lathes and milling machines.
• Use precision measurement tools to check finished components.
• Keep workshop equipment and the work area maintained, inspected, and clean.
• Handle general workshop tasks as required.
• Follow company procedures to maintain a safe workplace.
• Take part in the company’s continuous improvement activities.

Essential Experience and Attributes

• Prior experience in a comparable workshop-based role.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Good understanding of workshop processes and operations.
• Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
• Comfortable working as part of a team and independently when needed.
• Commitment to delivering a high standard of service.
• Very accurate work with close attention to detail.

Desirable Background

• A recognised mechanical apprenticeship.
• CNC programming knowledge would be an advantage, although training can be provided.
