Role Overview
An opening is available at the busy Wick factory for a Workshop Mechanical Technician to support the production of harsh-environment and marine CCTV systems for both existing and new customers in the UK and overseas.
This is a full-time on-site role with working hours of 37 per week, Monday to Friday.
Key Duties
- Carry out CNC milling and turning work.
- Set up and run manual lathes and milling machines.
- Use precision measurement tools to check finished components.
- Keep workshop equipment and the work area maintained, inspected, and clean.
- Handle general workshop tasks as required.
- Follow company procedures to maintain a safe workplace.
- Take part in the company’s continuous improvement activities.
Essential Experience and Attributes
- Prior experience in a comparable workshop-based role.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Good understanding of workshop processes and operations.
- Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Comfortable working as part of a team and independently when needed.
- Commitment to delivering a high standard of service.
- Very accurate work with close attention to detail.
Desirable Background
- A recognised mechanical apprenticeship.
- CNC programming knowledge would be an advantage, although training can be provided.
