Role Overview

Miraval The Red Sea is seeking a Wellness Counselor to support guests’ mental, emotional, and personal well-being through professional counseling and holistic guidance. The role blends evidence-based therapeutic methods with mindfulness and integrative wellness practices to help guests build resilience, gain clarity, and move toward healthier patterns of living.

Working in line with Miraval’s philosophy of intentional living, this position is central to creating meaningful guest experiences while upholding strong professional ethics, cultural awareness, and a high standard of care.

Guest Counseling and Emotional Support

  • Lead one-to-one and group wellness sessions centered on emotional balance, stress reduction, and mindful awareness.
  • Apply evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral methods, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and solution-focused techniques.
  • Offer tailored guidance that helps guests strengthen resilience, self-reflection, and emotional regulation.
  • Preserve confidentiality and ensure every interaction remains supportive and culturally respectful.
  • Help guests work through emotional concerns and deepen their personal wellness journey.

Program Creation and Facilitation

  • Design and deliver workshops on mindfulness, emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and stress management.
  • Work with the integrative wellness team to build individualized programs and layered well-being experiences for guests.
  • Ensure all counseling services and wellness programming reflect Miraval’s standards of professionalism, intention, and transformation.
  • Blend counseling services naturally into resort offerings, including private appointments and full-day retreat experiences.

Operational Standards and Ethical Practice

  • Maintain professional conduct and ethical practice in all guest-facing and counseling activities.
  • Keep accurate, confidential records in line with industry requirements and Saudi Arabia’s wellness and hospitality expectations.
  • Ensure all services are safe, inclusive, and aligned with regulatory and cultural guidelines.
  • Support the Serenity Center team by contributing to strong guest-care standards and effective program delivery.

Team Collaboration

  • Partner with Spa, Fitness, Creative Expression, and Mindfulness teams to enrich the guest wellness journey.
  • Share mindfulness strategies, emotional well-being tools, and psychological safety insights with colleagues when helpful.
  • Help foster a workplace culture grounded in empathy, integrity, inclusion, and personal growth.

Professional Growth and Innovation

  • Stay informed about current developments in mental wellness, integrative therapy, and mindfulness-based practices.
  • Take part in internal training, team discussions, and ongoing learning opportunities.
  • Contribute fresh ideas, new program concepts, and guest insights to improve and expand the wellness offering.
  • Give and receive peer feedback to continuously improve facilitation and guest engagement.

Guest Experience and Service Promotion

  • Personalize each guest interaction so it reflects individual wellness goals and preferences.
  • Suggest complementary offerings such as spa services, mindfulness sessions, or creative experiences when appropriate.
  • Support guest satisfaction by providing warm, professional guidance that encourages meaningful change.
  • Help drive revenue by ethically promoting private sessions and suitable wellness enhancements in a guest-first manner.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Integrative Health, or a related discipline is preferred, along with formal certification in holistic therapy or wellness coaching. The role requires at least 2 years of experience in wellness counseling, mindfulness-based coaching, or mental well-being facilitation. Certification in mindfulness-based methods such as MBSR or MBCT, stress management, or wellness coaching is preferred. Experience in a luxury wellness resort, retreat center, or integrative health setting is highly desirable. Candidates should understand culturally sensitive wellness delivery within the Saudi Arabian hospitality environment. English proficiency is required, and Arabic is an advantage.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong interpersonal presence and communication skills with the ability to build respectful, empathetic rapport.
  • Comfortable leading both individual and group experiences with calm, clear, and compassionate delivery.
  • Well organized with strong time management and attention to detail for documentation and follow-up.
  • Technically confident using scheduling tools, email systems, and guest record platforms.
  • Genuine interest in personal development and supporting mental clarity in others.
  • Emotionally intelligent, ethical, and adaptable in a multicultural environment.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive tax-free pay based on experience and qualifications.
  • Accommodation provided by the resort.
  • Medical coverage in line with Saudi labor law.
  • Annual airfare allowance and paid leave.
  • Career development and advancement opportunities across the Hyatt and Miraval global network.
