Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically strong Sound Engineer to join the internal video production team in Nanakramguda, Telangana. This role owns the complete audio workflow, starting from recording on set through to editing, mixing, and mastering in post-production. The goal is to deliver clean, immersive, and broadcast-quality sound for educational masterclasses, brand films, testimonials, explainers, and other video content.
Your work will help shape the overall viewing experience by ensuring that the audio remains clear, balanced, and consistent across all productions.
On-Set Recording
- Plan and carry out location sound capture with a focus on crisp dialogue, low background noise, and proper microphone placement for different video formats.
- Handle professional recording gear such as shotgun microphones, lavalier microphones, audio recorders, boom poles, and wireless audio systems.
- Run sound checks, keep track of live levels, and quickly resolve any audio issues during shoots.
- Apply soundproofing and ambient control practices, especially in studio-based environments.
Audio Post-Production
- Edit, clean, mix, and master audio for a wide range of video assets.
- Remove noise, hum, and other unwanted frequencies using tools such as Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, or DaVinci Resolve Fairlight.
- Align sound with picture to maintain accurate lip sync and smooth continuity.
- Add sound effects, room tone, and background music, working with composers when needed or using royalty-free libraries.
Audio Quality and Consistency
- Preserve a consistent sonic identity across all videos and content formats.
- Ensure voice clarity, even tonal balance, and appropriate loudness for platforms such as YouTube, LMS, and social media.
- Apply LUFS targets, dynamic range control, and EQ balancing suited to the content type.
Equipment and Workflow Management
- Maintain, manage, and improve the audio equipment inventory, including microphones, interfaces, mixers, and monitoring systems.
- Recommend tools and technologies that can improve recording quality or speed up the workflow.
- Document and refine audio processes so handoffs between recording, post-production, and delivery remain smooth.
Experience and Technical Fit
- 2+ years of experience as a Sound Engineer, Location Sound Recordist, or Audio Post-Production Specialist in a professional video production environment.
- Strong command of recording equipment such as Zoom F series, Sound Devices MixPre, Rode, Sennheiser, Shure, or similar professional tools.
- Hands-on experience with DAWs including Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Fairlight, or Logic Pro.
- Working knowledge of plugins used for noise reduction, de-reverb, EQ, compression, and limiting.
- High attention to detail, especially for audio flaws, pacing, level consistency, and tonal balance.
- Ability to troubleshoot live sound problems quickly with minimal disruption on shoot days.
- Comfort working closely with cinematographers, directors, and editors in a collaborative environment.
Good to Have
- Exposure to 5.1 surround sound or immersive audio formats.
- Experience with Foley recording, ADR, and directing voiceover sessions.
- Familiarity with audio workflows for animation and motion graphics projects.
- Understanding of broadcast delivery standards for OTT, YouTube, and LMS platforms.
