About the Company
E INC serves as the parent organization behind EBlock and EDealer, bringing its products, services, and strategy together around a single vision: building the world’s leading digital auction and retailing platform by linking automotive wholesale and retail experiences across the vehicle ownership journey.
Role Overview
The Vehicle Field Inspector is responsible for carrying out detailed inspections of assigned vehicles and preparing Condition Reports that reflect the vehicle’s true state. Inspections are usually completed at dealerships, though some assignments may take place at company facilities. The role calls for regular travel, strong attention to detail, and the ability to create and maintain positive customer relationships. Other related duties may also be assigned to help the business operate effectively.
Schedule
This role follows a Saturday to Wednesday schedule, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Key Duties
- Inspect vehicles across different settings such as dealerships, physical auctions, and other off-site locations.
- Evaluate and record structural damage, frame issues, prior repair quality, poor paintwork, body-panel alignment, missing components, and mechanical concerns.
- Use training, industry standards, and management instructions to complete inspections and the related documentation accurately.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent communication and service.
- Work carefully to keep report accuracy high and reduce arbitration risk.
- Follow all required health and safety procedures.
- When instructed, locate vehicles, start them, and move them as needed.
- Handle additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old, have dependable transportation for travel to and from assignments, and hold a valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience of 1 to 3 years in the automotive industry is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving ability and a practical approach to challenges are important.
- Candidates should be able to work independently with limited supervision while still contributing effectively in a team setting.
- Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles is necessary.
- Familiarity with web-based applications and vehicle inspection tools is preferred.
- The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to delivering excellent customer service.
Working Conditions
The position requires comfort with changing weather conditions and the physical ability to bend, squat, stoop, kneel, and stand for long periods. There may also be occasional exposure to loud noise and chemicals.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range is $18.25 to $19.23 per hour. The role may also qualify for discretionary bonuses or commission payments. Additional benefits include paid time off, mileage reimbursement, participation in medical, dental, and vision coverage, RRSP/401k programs, company-paid group life and AD&D insurance, flexible working arrangements, continuous learning opportunities, and a strong company culture.
