Job description
About the role
Bending Spoons aims to build an enduring, high-performing company that creates long-term value by acquiring and operating digital businesses. The organization focuses on improving established products, accelerating innovation, and strengthening business results while maintaining strong ethical standards. Teams are intentionally small, highly capable, and relatively flat in structure, with a startup-like sense of speed and ownership. AI is embedded into the way work gets done so that human insight and machine capability reinforce one another.
This role is suited to someone talented, highly motivated, and collaborative who wants to grow quickly, make a real impact, and learn in a demanding but rewarding environment.
What you will do
- Design impactful product experiences, creating polished UI and UX from early ideas through final delivery while using modern tools to explore options faster and improve quality.
- Begin design work with AI assistance by using LLMs to clarify goals, draft brief specs, and identify risks, edge cases, and possible directions before moving into design tools.
- Use AI-powered tools such as Cursor and Claude Code to turn concepts into interactive prototypes and production-ready frontend code, switching between code and Figma as needed.
- Work closely with product managers and engineers from the start, defining UX needs early and staying involved through QA and release to make implementation-aware decisions.
- Test and refine ideas by speaking with customers, running quick experiments, and using insights to improve product direction.
- Measure design impact through funnels, retention, and adoption metrics to understand what is working and what should be improved next.
- Spot the most valuable opportunities in the backlog, build alignment around them, and move quickly to deliver meaningful product gains.
What the company is looking for
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills, with the ability to break down complex problems, think from first principles, and pay attention to the details that matter.
- High drive and ambition, along with a strong sense of ownership, effort, and persistence.
- A collaborative team mindset, including generosity, transparency, and a willingness to support the best idea and help wherever needed.
- Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
What is offered
- Small, highly capable, entrepreneurial teams with a strong focus on results and autonomy.
- Exceptional growth potential, with opportunities to take on major responsibility early and contribute to high-value products.
- Competitive compensation plus access to company equity, with pay varying by location and expected impact.
- Flexible working arrangements, remote work options, unlimited learning and training support, premium health insurance, relocation support, generous parental support, and an annual retreat to a notable destination.
- If relocating to Italy, a 50% tax reduction may apply.
Commitment and contract
This is a full-time position on either a permanent or fixed-term contract.
Location and working arrangement
The role may be based in Milan, London, Madrid, Warsaw, or performed remotely from selected approved countries. Candidates are encouraged to spend the first few months working from the Milan office to build momentum and integrate with the team, with travel and accommodation support provided. After that, work can continue from the Milan or London office or remotely from approved countries, depending on what is agreed at the offer stage.
Selection process
Applications are reviewed through the company’s own careers process. Candidates who pass the initial screening may be asked to complete one or more challenging tests, which can take several hours and may involve unfamiliar problems. Assessment is based on evidence of excellence rather than seniority, and all applicants are evaluated through the same process.
People are encouraged not to rule themselves out simply because they have limited experience or an imperfect CV. The company may keep a role open for months or repost it multiple times if the right candidate has not yet been found.
Equal opportunity and accommodations
All applicants are considered for employment, and reasonable accommodations are available for people with disabilities.
Before you apply
If you have previously applied and were not offered the role, the recommendation is to wait at least one year before applying again.
The workplace is described as demanding and highly ambitious, with a culture that expects strong commitment but also offers significant learning and career growth in return.
To get up to speed quickly, the company recommends spending the first few months in the Milan office regardless of your long-term location. Support for travel and accommodation is provided to help with this transition.
If this opportunity excites you and you are ready to give your best, the company invites you to apply.
