About Bending Spoons

Bending Spoons aims to build a truly exceptional company: one that serves a large customer base, enables people to reach their full potential, operates with outstanding effectiveness and efficiency, creates significant value for shareholders, and does all of this while maintaining high ethical standards. The company acquires digital businesses with a long-term ownership mindset, then improves them in ways that accelerate innovation, strengthen customer outcomes, and boost business performance. Teams are intentionally small, highly capable, and operate with the speed and urgency of a startup, even though they manage established products. AI is used deeply across the organization so that human judgment and machine intelligence complement each other.

This role is positioned as a strong opportunity for a talented, motivated, and collaborative person to learn quickly, contribute meaningfully, and grow their career at a fast pace.

What you will do

  • Help design and refine data pipelines, contributing to systems that keep data accurate, dependable, and efficiently processed across a variety of technologies.
  • Work on data quality and scale by partnering with software engineers to validate information, define metrics, and strengthen reporting and analytics infrastructure.
  • Build internal data products and tools, including scalable solutions such as reporting engines and forecasting tools that support product teams.
  • Assist in company-wide decision support by providing the analytical and modeling foundation for planning and performance measurement.
  • Use AI tools to work faster, generate ideas, identify opportunities, and analyze competitors and market trends.

What the company is looking for

  • Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving ability, with a first-principles approach and careful attention to the details that matter.
  • High ambition, initiative, persistence, and a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for your work.
  • A genuinely collaborative mindset: willingness to help others, support the best idea, stay hands-on, and act with honesty and transparency.
  • Proficiency in English for reading, writing, and speaking.

What’s on offer

  • Small, entrepreneurial, high-performing teams with a strong bias toward outcomes and autonomy.
  • Excellent growth potential, with opportunities to take on major responsibility quickly and work on large-scale products.
  • Competitive compensation plus access to company equity, with pay that varies by location, experience, and expected impact.
  • Flexible working arrangements, remote work, unlimited support for learning and training, premium health insurance, relocation support, generous parental benefits, and an annual retreat to a beautiful destination.

Commitment and contract

This position can be permanent or fixed-term, and may be full-time or part-time.

Location

Possible work locations include Milan, London, Madrid, Warsaw, or remote work from selected countries.

Selection process

The hiring process is designed to prioritize clear evidence of excellence rather than seniority alone. Every applicant is assessed through the same process, and there are no special routes based on background alone. Candidates who feel underqualified or who have an imperfect CV are encouraged not to rule themselves out if they believe they can grow into the role.

Applications are reviewed only through the company careers page. Candidates who progress may be asked to complete one or more demanding tests that can involve unfamiliar problems and may take several hours. The company notes that openings may stay live for a long time or be reposted multiple times while the search continues.

The company welcomes all applicants and provides reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.

Before you apply

If you previously applied and were not selected, you are advised to wait at least one year before applying again.

This is a demanding environment with a very high bar. The upside can be exceptional learning, achievement, and career progression, but it also requires substantial commitment.

To help new hires get up to speed quickly, the company recommends spending the first few months working from the Milan office, regardless of longer-term work location. This is intended to help you absorb the culture and build trust with your teammates. Travel and accommodation support is provided. After that period, work may be based in the Milan or London offices, or remote from approved countries, depending on what is agreed at the offer stage.

Applicants should note that the role is intended for people ready to bring their best effort and thrive in a high-expectation environment.
