Overview
ELM Utility Services is hiring a Utility Locate Technician in North Bend, Washington. The organization employs more than 1,700 people across the country and supports the safety and reliability of gas, electric, and communication infrastructure by marking underground utilities before excavation work begins. The role uses LaunchPoint software to help streamline field operations. Pay starts at $25.50 to $32.00 per hour, based on experience.
Compensation and Benefits
- A company vehicle, fuel card, and cell phone are provided for daily use and may be taken home, allowing the workday to begin directly from the first site.

What You Will Do
- Work independently outdoors and manage a daily route of utility locate assignments using the company vehicle as a mobile workspace.
- Identify and mark underground utilities safely, accurately, and efficiently using paint, flags, and at times whiskers.
- Receive and organize daily work through a mobile work system.
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, motor vehicle record review, and background check.
- This is a safety-sensitive DOT position and must follow all applicable federal Department of Transportation rules.
- Use of marijuana, whether medical or recreational, is not permitted for this role.
- Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
