The organization is built around an innovative mindset, adaptability, clear professional communication, and a mentally safe, non-judgmental environment. Additional company details will be shared after signing a non-disclosure agreement.
Role overview
The core UI has already been designed in Figma by the founder, and the main React Native front-end has been started, though some features still need to be added. The role is centered on helping shape and launch a community platform by improving the user experience and refining the product design across mobile and web.
Key responsibilities
- Own the design workflow from early concepts through polished, high-fidelity mockups for mobile and web products.
- Work with app-specific design standards for both iOS and Android, including Apple Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design principles.
- Partner with engineers to make sure designs are implemented accurately, with clear specifications and supporting assets.
- Run user research activities such as interviews, surveys, and usability testing to uncover friction points and validate features like chat, feeds, and posting flows.
- Refine visual design elements such as icons, button states, color choices, and typography so they match the brand identity.
- Use product data and user feedback to improve the experience quickly and continuously, with an eye toward retention and engagement.
- Design the content feed to improve how users consume content and increase time spent in the app.
- Create engaging micro-interactions and animations for actions like liking, sharing, and commenting.
- Build smooth onboarding and sign-up journeys that help new users join quickly and easily.
- Ensure the product remains accessible and inclusive for a broad range of users.
- Develop and maintain a scalable design system and UI component library for consistency across the product.
Required background
- Hands-on experience using Figma.
- Experience with Claude design.
- Ability to manage the full product design process from concept to delivery.
- Understanding of iOS and Android design conventions.
- Experience collaborating with developers on handoff and implementation.
- Comfort with user research, testing, and interpreting user feedback.
- Strong visual design judgment, including layout, typography, and interface details.
- Ability to iterate quickly based on data and product feedback.
- Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design practices.
- Experience building or maintaining design systems is a plus for this role.
