Job description
Company overview
The Warehouse began in 1982, founded by Sir Stephen Tindall, and built its reputation on a simple retail approach, broad product choice, and low prices. It has grown into a familiar New Zealand brand with a strong presence in local communities. Since 1991, Warehouse Stationery has expanded the stationery-retail offering and now operates through many Warehouse stores as a Store within a Store (SWAS), giving customers a convenient one-stop destination for personal, home, and office needs.
About the role
This SWAS Trading 2IC position supports the Trading Manager across the Stationery, Entertainment, and Technology areas. The role helps maintain merchandising standards, contributes to the Trading Plan, and ensures planograms are carried out properly so that pricing remains correct and products are available in line with customer expectations.
In the Trading Manager’s absence, you will step into that responsibility and help keep the department running smoothly. This is a strong opportunity to show leadership capability while contributing to a positive customer experience, an engaged team, and a profitable store.
Hours of work
- Tuesday and Wednesday: 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm
- Thursday to Saturday: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
Ideal experience and attributes
The preferred candidate will bring some previous leadership experience, the ability to follow and implement plans accurately, strong attention to detail, and clear written and spoken communication skills.
Additional information
The company highlights its recognition as a best workplace for five years in a row and retail employer of the year for three consecutive years. It also offers additional leave options, wellness programmes, and employee discounts. The team environment is described as built on trust, support, and flexibility.
