Job description

Position Summary

The Trade Marketing Analyst role focuses on synchronizing trade marketing efforts using analytical methods, uncovering strategic growth avenues, and revising sales plans to boost sales and profitability in designated regions. This role requires hybrid working with up to 20% business travel across California, Texas, Arizona, Illinois, and New York.

  • Coordinate, design, and execute strategies centred on Category, Trade, and Shopper initiatives for assigned territories.
  • Generate departmental and category insights to maximize promotion share, distribution, and product shelf placement.
  • Conduct analyses to identify new growth potential within categories and propose business opportunities.
  • Assess and evaluate outcomes of campaigns, suggesting strategic adjustments where necessary.
  • Prepare and present thorough category reviews and roll out category initiatives collaborating with clients and internal teams including Revenue Management, Category Management, and Field Sales.
  • Implement trade marketing plans; monitor and report on budgets and outcomes, providing recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Perform additional job tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a relevant discipline or comparable professional experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in trade marketing, brand management, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in a broker or sales analyst position.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Previous experience managing budgets and P&L.
  • Familiarity with SQL, ACCESS, or similar database management tools.
  • Experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods sector.

Skills and Competencies

  • Understanding of category management systems and processes.
  • Technical proficiency with SAP, BW Analyzer, and High Jump software.
  • Experience in working with consumer consumption databases like Nielsen.
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial analytics expertise to effectively plan and evaluate trade marketing actions.
  • Problem-solving aptitude, including making informed decisions with partial information.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts clearly in both verbal and written formats across organizational tiers.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships and foster collaboration within trade marketing and cross-functional units.
  • Familiarity with working within matrix organizational structures.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including data analysis, pivot tables, and complex graph creation, along with proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
