Job description
Overview
This remote-first opportunity is for a Threat Analyst located in the United States and is being shared on behalf of a partner organization that handles applications and hiring steps. The role focuses on detecting digital fraud, analyzing behavioral patterns, and advising financial institutions on how to strengthen their defenses against modern cyber threats.
The position combines deep analytical work with client advisory responsibilities. You will help banks and enterprise customers understand fraud patterns, improve detection approaches, and get more value from behavioral biometrics tools. Success in this role depends on turning complex data into practical prevention actions and communicating those findings clearly to both operational and executive audiences.
You will partner with data science, product, engineering, sales, and customer success teams to improve models, respond to new threats, and support the overall effectiveness of the platform. This is a high-impact role in a global environment where your work directly contributes to protecting real users from fraud.
Key responsibilities
- Act as a fraud analytics specialist and help customers strengthen detection and prevention strategies through behavioral analytics solutions.
- Develop trusted relationships with fraud operations teams, investigators, and senior leaders at financial institutions.
- Perform advanced quantitative analysis to study fraud trends, detection performance, and solution effectiveness.
- Work with internal data science and engineering teams to refine models and respond to new fraud patterns.
- Create, roll out, and adjust fraud rules to stop active attacks and lower unnecessary customer friction.
- Prepare reporting, insights, and performance reviews for pilots and proof-of-value work.
- Bring customer feedback and field intelligence back to internal teams to shape product direction and roadmap priorities.
- Support pre-sales and onboarding activities by providing technical guidance to sales and customer success teams.
- Track evolving fraud methods such as account takeover, scams, and identity manipulation techniques.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in threat analysis, fraud analytics, data analysis, or a similar role in financial services or cybersecurity.
- A bachelor’s or graduate-level degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or another quantitative field.
- Hands-on experience working with fraud operations, monitoring tools, or investigative teams at financial institutions.
- Intermediate to advanced SQL skills for extracting and analyzing data.
- Working knowledge of Python and/or R is strongly preferred for statistical and analytical tasks.
- Good understanding of statistical modeling and decision-making based on data.
- Strong communication and presentation ability, including experience speaking to both technical and senior business audiences.
- Solid commercial awareness and the ability to build customer trust in a consultative role.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-moving remote environment.
- Preferred experience with behavioral biometrics, machine learning use cases, or large-scale fraud detection platforms.
Benefits
- Salary range of $140,000 to $170,000 per year.
- Remote-first work setup available anywhere in the United States.
- Flexible paid time off.
- Paid sick leave, maternity and paternity leave, plus additional family leave options.
- 401(k) retirement plan with company match of up to 4%.
- Health coverage designed to meet employee needs.
- Life insurance coverage.
- Wellness support, employee assistance program access, and health advocacy services.
- Monthly reimbursement for home internet and mobile phone costs.
- Travel opportunities across North America for client meetings and workshops.
- Strong emphasis on professional growth and learning across functions.
