Role Overview
The full-time Technical Artist / Animator position is based in Port Harcourt, with some flexibility for remote work. This role requires tight collaboration with designers and developers to produce, integrate, and enhance 3D assets and animations tailored for gameplay and immersive applications. Daily tasks involve building and perfecting animation rigs, applying visual effects, tuning lighting and shaders, and ensuring that assets operate smoothly within the game engine environment. Additionally, the role includes developing scripts and tools to optimize workflows, addressing visual or performance challenges, and supporting the collective artistic goals of the team.
Key Qualifications
- Expertise in 3D graphics encompassing modeling, texturing, rigging, and animating within real-time game engines.
- Hands-on experience in game development with asset integration, performance optimization, and proficiency in major game engines like Unity and Unreal.
- Familiarity with Virtual Reality technologies, including VR interactions, performance optimization, and comfort considerations.
- Capability to script tools and pipelines using Python, C#, or other engine-specific languages to enhance and automate art processes.
- Competence in setting up real-time lighting systems, managing dynamic and baked lights, materials, and post-processing techniques.
- Skilled in professional 3D and animation software such as Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max, as well as version control systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and effective collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams.
- Educational background or equivalent practical experience in Game Art, Computer Graphics, Animation, or related disciplines.
