Role Purpose

The Project Transmission Line Manager (Site) - Tx will oversee the delivery of assigned sections of 765/400 kV transmission line projects. The position is accountable for completing work within planned timelines, budget limits, and quality benchmarks while maintaining a zero-harm mindset. The role also requires strong coordination with stakeholders, site administration, and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth, compliant, and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities

The role covers end-to-end site execution, including planning, supervision, coordination, and compliance monitoring across transmission line works.

  • Plan, track, and coordinate foundation, erection, and stringing activities so the site progresses according to schedule and quality expectations.
  • Review survey inputs and on-ground conditions to confirm tower placement, route alignment, extension requirements, and crossing locations such as highways and railways.
  • Develop and maintain L2 schedules by forecasting weekly and monthly requirements for manpower and materials.
  • Prepare daily and monthly management information reports to provide accurate project status updates.
  • Apply Field Quality Plans, IS Codes, and CBIP manuals at site, and verify that materials and workmanship meet required standards.
  • Implement occupational health and safety plans, and conduct periodic safety training for site teams.
  • Carry out regular quality and safety checks to remain compliant with statutory and internal requirements, and to reduce operational risk.
  • Maintain compensation documents, landowner agreements, and site administration records, ensuring approvals are in place to avoid penalties or delays.
  • Work with government and local authorities, including Patwari, Tehsildar, and SDM offices, to support landowner and Right of Way matters.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors through regular review meetings to address issues early, control additional costs, and keep objectives aligned.
  • Arrange shutdowns, manage permissions, and keep communication channels open with external stakeholders to enable timely execution.
  • Track expenses against the approved budget and monitor resource usage to support financial discipline.
  • Check vendor bills for correctness, obtain approvals, and ensure timely processing of payments and expenses.
  • Use project management tools and software to monitor progress, allocate resources, and improve communication across the team.
  • Adopt innovative techniques and process improvements to strengthen execution quality and overall project outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

A B.E. or B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering is required.

The ideal candidate should bring 10 to 12 years of relevant experience in high-voltage 765/400 kV transmission line project execution, along with practical expertise in resolving Right of Way issues. Strong familiarity with safety rules, regulatory compliance, statutory approvals, and quality control practices for transmission line sites is also essential.
