Teacher Assistant - All Subjects

Position Overview

This role supports classroom instruction under the direct supervision of a principal or designated supervisor. The teacher assistant aids teachers by preparing educational materials, grading and documenting assignments, and providing various forms of classroom support to ensure effective teaching and learning.

• Employment Type: Full-time, classified position
• Work Hours: Approximately 5.9 hours per day
• Work Year: 174 days per year
• Application Deadline: July 15, 2026
• Salary: $17.24 per hour based on the 2026-27 Support Salary Table (Salary Grade 3), with at least a 5% increase upon promotion

Responsibilities

The position involves assisting teachers through diverse tasks such as preparing class materials, correcting and recording assignments, and performing other supportive duties as directed.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent educational background or experience
• Completion of two years (48 semester hours) of full-time post-secondary education, or possession of an associate degree, or successful passing of the Utah State Office of Education approved Para-Professional Test
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
• Basic secretarial and clerical capabilities, including possible computer operation skills
