Job description
Role Overview
IDEA Services is dedicated to assisting individuals with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling lives within their homes and communities. As a Support Worker based in Taupo, you will aid clients with complex needs by providing personalized care and risk management, including overnight support. This role requires creativity and dedication to help clients achieve their goals and enjoy each day meaningfully.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in their homes.
- Manage risks and ensure client safety throughout the day and night, including sleepovers.
- Work alternate weekends and varying shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous caregiving or personal care experience with adults, preferably in disability or aged care sectors.
- Ability to build strong relationships and work confidently with challenging behaviors.
- Flexibility to work across various rostered shifts, including sleepovers and weekends.
- Proficiency with computers and tablets for daily use.
- Effective written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Physical fitness necessary for providing supportive care.
- Valid Full New Zealand driver's license.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly pay ranging from $24.68 to $30.13, depending on qualifications and experience.
