Role overview

ABM UK is looking for a careful and well-organised Stores Operative to support store operations in Barking, Greater London. The role is focused on keeping inventory accurate, making sure goods flow smoothly through the store, and helping the wider supply chain function effectively.

Working pattern and location

This is an on-site position based in Barking.

The shift pattern is Friday 10pm to Saturday 10am and Saturday 10pm to Sunday 10am, with a total of 24 hours per week.

Salary

Compensation is stated as competitive.

Key duties

  • Accept incoming deliveries, check them carefully, and place items into storage.
  • Keep inventory information up to date and monitor stock quantities.
  • Prepare, pack, and send out orders promptly.
  • Carry out routine stock counts and inventory checks.
  • Maintain a store area that is tidy, well arranged, and safe to work in.
  • Use forklifts and similar warehouse equipment where required and where applicable.
  • Work with other teams to complete orders and sort out any stock differences.
  • Help compile inventory-related reports.
  • Follow all health and safety rules and procedures.

Skills and experience needed

Prior experience in a warehouse or stores setting is preferred. The ideal candidate should be organised, able to manage time effectively, work well alone and within a team, and use basic computer tools for inventory systems. The job also requires physical fitness and the ability to handle heavy items.
