About the Role

As a Staff Product Manager on the Consumer team, you will have a crucial role in shaping how millions of users engage with Affirm via mobile apps, websites, and upcoming consumer interfaces.

The Staff Product Manager, App Platform & Experience, is responsible for foundational systems, frameworks, and experience architectures that ensure Affirm's product is intuitive, cohesive, and scalable. This position entails defining consistent experience standards to enable various teams to deliver seamless and high-quality user interactions. Close collaboration with Mobile and Web groups will be key to advancing shared platforms, systems, and the React Native base that power Affirm's consumer-facing products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Craft and advocate the long-term strategic vision for core consumer experiences spanning app, web, and new consumer touchpoints.
  • Lead ownership of fundamental experience components including navigation, information architecture, design systems, shared UX frameworks, and platform capabilities.
  • Manage large-scale initiatives such as major redesigns and improvements across the consumer journey.
  • Collaborate closely with Mobile and Web Engineering teams to influence platform architecture, features, and developer experience within Affirm’s React Native application environment.
  • Define standardized shared elements like navigation patterns and component frameworks to facilitate consistent, high-quality product development.
  • Establish and enforce principles, standards, and frameworks for delivering uniform, intuitive user experiences across products.
  • Develop scalable approaches for common user experience areas including onboarding, discovery, personalization, engagement, support, and account management.
  • Be a strong advocate for consumer needs, ensuring user-centric decision making in products and platform development.
  • Foster cross-organizational alignment and influence settings without direct authority.
  • Implement governance processes such as experience reviews to elevate product quality.
  • Leverage research, experimentation, and analytics to uncover opportunities for enhancing user experience.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 8 years experience managing consumer technology products at scale.
  • Proven success in leading broad, cross-functional projects spanning multiple teams.
  • Sharp product intuition with excellent taste in consumer product design.
  • Experience owning or influencing mobile/web core experiences, navigation systems, information architecture, platform capabilities, or design systems.
  • Strong collaboration with Design and Engineering to deliver polished user experiences.
  • Comfortable guiding product strategies related to React Native and consumer platform architecture, although deep technical skills are not mandatory.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving capabilities balancing user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and organizational influence skills.
  • Ability to build consensus and drive results in complex environments without formal authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience heading major redesigns or transformative consumer experience projects.
  • Background in building shared platforms or frameworks that accelerate and improve product quality for multiple teams.
  • Deep expertise in consumer mobile and web interfaces focusing on engagement, trust, and simplicity.
  • History of defining product principles and influencing decisions at an organizational scale.

Compensation and Benefits

Affirm follows a transparent pay model considering location, experience, and relevant skills. Base salary ranges from $181,000 to $241,000 annually. A holistic compensation package includes equity grants, monthly stipends for health, wellness, and technology, and comprehensive benefits such as fully subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents.

Work Location & Culture
