About the Role
Affirm is focused on reshaping consumer credit into something clearer and more customer-friendly, enabling people to buy now and pay later without hidden fees or compounding interest. In this role, you will join the Financial Platforms team and work on the core backend financial systems and data foundation that power key workflows across the business. The position centers on creating durable platform capabilities that support reliable integrations between engineering, data, and business functions. You will help strengthen scalability, compliance, and operational efficiency while enabling continued product innovation and business growth.
What You’ll Do
- Take on complex, unclear platform challenges and turn them into practical plans that balance immediate needs with longer-term impact.
- Define the strategy and roadmap for foundational platform capabilities, shared services, integrations, and workflows tied to financial operations and reporting.
- Work closely with engineering and data partners to shape APIs, data contracts, platform boundaries, and migration approaches that improve scale, reliability, and upkeep.
- Own product objectives and guide cross-functional execution from requirements through launch for important platform features and products.
- Communicate clearly with product, engineering, and other stakeholders, including regular presentations to senior leadership.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 4 years of product management experience, ideally with platform-oriented products.
- A strong analytical approach with the ability to think strategically while still driving hands-on execution.
- A history of delivering meaningful products and managing them successfully after launch.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with varied stakeholders.
- Comfort working through incomplete, conflicting, or unclear inputs and turning them into action.
- Enough technical depth to participate confidently in detailed technical discussions and form informed viewpoints.
- Either a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
Compensation and Leveling
Pay Grade: N
Equity Grade: 6
Base salary range in Canada: $153,000 to $213,000 per year. New hires typically start at the lower end of the posted range. Compensation is determined using factors such as location, experience, and job-related skills.
Base pay is only one part of the full compensation package, which may also include equity, monthly stipends for health, wellness, and technology spending, and benefits such as fully subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents.

Work Location and Flexibility
Affirm operates as a remote-first company. Most roles can be performed from nearly anywhere in the country of employment. Some positions may occasionally require visits to a designated office, depending on the responsibilities of the role. A small number of roles remain office-based because of their job requirements.
