Job description

Role overview

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an energetic and committed Staff Nurse to join the Denbigh Ward team in Older People’s Mental Health, based in Fulbourn, Cambridge.

This opportunity suits someone with a strong sense of teamwork, personal accountability, and the ability to stay effective when workloads are demanding. The role is intended for professionals who can bring the right qualities to strengthen an established team.

Prior experience in a mental health setting is essential.

Key duties

You will deliver high-quality, evidence-informed nursing guidance, care, and support to service users with both mental and physical health needs, as well as to their carers, working within a multidisciplinary environment.

The post involves taking responsibility for supporting and leading assessment, care planning, delivery, and review of nursing care during night shifts.

You are expected to have a sound understanding of the local and national policies, procedures, and legislation that shape current service delivery.

The role also includes identifying training needs and helping to develop junior registered and non-registered staff.

You will need to ensure equality, diversity, and individual rights are handled in line with good practice and legal requirements.

Clear communication is essential, and you must work within the limits of your own professional responsibility.
