Overview
This position is for a Staff Midwife at a major teaching hospital, involving active collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to deliver a safe, efficient, high-quality maternity care service to women, newborns, and their families.
Key Qualifications and Knowledge
- Must be a Registered Midwife (RM) registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Familiarity with healthcare areas including Maternity Strategy, HIQA Standards, Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI), Child Protection, applicable health and safety laws, national policies, and health promotion for mothers and families.
- Awareness of clinical governance and risk management practices.
Professional Competencies
- Comprehensive understanding of maternity care models.
- Capacity to interpret and apply research findings.
- Experience with clinical audits.
- Knowledge related to NMBI regulatory roles and publications.
- Background in midwifery and nursing educational programs.
