Role overview
Uber is hiring a Senior Associate for its Strategic Finance team in New York, NY. In this role, you will strengthen financial reporting, analytics, and planning so leaders across the business can make sharper decisions. You will contribute to important strategic and operational work, help turn insights into action, and support the company’s continued growth, scaling, and profitability. The position may align with one of several FP&A areas depending on business needs, including Mobility, Delivery, Commercial, Technical, or Corporate Finance.
What you will do
- Work with business leaders to build financial forecasts and operational targets.
- Use business judgment and financial analysis to support decisions on new initiatives, products, and business opportunities.
- Develop complex financial models from the ground up and improve existing ones by breaking larger problems into smaller components.
- Collaborate with teammates to carry out projects and put insights into practice.
- Stay adaptable, creative, and open to learning new technical tools and methods.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related field.
- At least 4 years of relevant professional experience.
- Hands-on experience with Excel or Google Sheets.
- Background in financial or analytical work such as FP&A, investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or operations.
Preferred background
- Exposure to SQL and AI tools.
- Strong analytical capability with a disciplined approach to building efficient, scalable, and easy-to-use models.
- Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership and work toward goals independently.
- Comfort with handling several priorities at once in an ambiguous environment.
- Team-oriented attitude and willingness to collaborate closely with others.
- High attention to detail and the ability to perform well in a fast-moving setting.
- Working knowledge of GAAP.
- Experience with enterprise planning systems, SQL, and/or statistical software.
Compensation and benefits
The base pay for this role in New York, NY is USD 131,000 to USD 145,500 per year. The same salary range applies to San Francisco, CA-based roles as well. Full-time employees in the US are eligible for Uber’s bonus program, may receive equity and other compensation, and can participate in a 401(k) plan. Additional benefits are also available.
