About the Role

Johnson Controls, through its Wormald brand, is looking for a seasoned Sprinkler Estimator to join the Waikato and Bay of Plenty team in Hamilton. In this position, you will partner with customers and internal teams to prepare reliable, compliant, and commercially viable quotations for a range of fire sprinkler projects.

The role sits within a steady and collaborative team environment, where fire protection expertise is valued and customer outcomes are a priority.

About the Employer

Johnson Controls is focused on helping shape safer, smarter, and more sustainable buildings. Its Wormald business is recognised as New Zealand’s long-standing fire protection specialist, with 140 years of experience safeguarding people and property nationwide.

What You Will Do

  • Develop precise estimates for the supply, installation, and servicing of fire sprinkler systems across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty region.
  • Work with clients to clarify project scope, needs, and suitable solutions.
  • Make sure all pricing and proposals align with current New Zealand Standards, relevant legislation, and company margin targets.
  • Track submitted quotes, follow up proactively, and contribute to business development activity.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Represent and promote the wider range of fire protection products and services offered by Johnson Controls.
  • Complete reporting, forecasting, and administrative tasks within required timeframes.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary along with company benefits.
  • A company vehicle.
  • Discounted health insurance.
  • A supportive and stable team culture.
  • Training, development, and skill-building opportunities.
  • Potential for career progression within a global organisation.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in sprinkler estimating, fire protection, or a closely related construction field.
  • Estimating or sales background in the construction industry is preferred.
  • Strong focus on accuracy and sound commercial judgment.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organise workload, prioritise tasks, and manage several bids at once.
  • Valid full New Zealand driver’s licence with a clean record.

Important Information

You need to already have the legal right to work in New Zealand.

As part of the hiring process, pre-employment screening will be carried out, including reference checks, medical assessment, criminal history review, and drug and alcohol testing.

If you are ready to advance your fire protection career and join a market leader, this could be a strong next step.
