The Role

We are seeking a Social Media Manager who recognizes that impactful social media extends beyond mere content posting to encompass building authority, fostering trust, and cultivating community. This individual will spearhead the strategy and execution of our social media presence across Instagram, LinkedIn, and Substack, significantly contributing to establishing Be Balanced and Micaela as leading voices in functional health. Working in close collaboration with our Fractional CMO and the wider marketing team, you will identify educational opportunities, devise content strategies, and translate extensive educational materials into captivating social content designed to expand our audience and achieve business objectives. This position demands a strategic thinker with the capacity for independent execution, possessing a solid grasp of both health science and social media psychology.

What You'll Own

  • Develop and implement the comprehensive social media strategy for Instagram, LinkedIn, and Substack.
  • Create and manage monthly content calendars, ensuring alignment with product launches, marketing campaigns, and overarching business goals.
  • Identify and capitalize on emerging conversations and opportunities within the functional health and wellness space.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of platform updates, algorithm shifts, and current content trends.
  • Craft engaging captions that educate and resonate with the established Be Balanced brand voice.
  • Coordinate with design and video editing teams to bring creative content concepts to fruition.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics to continuously refine strategies based on data-driven insights.
  • Propose innovative content series, campaigns, and avenues for audience growth.
  • Elevate Be Balanced's position as the definitive authority in functional health education.
  • Produce 5-6 high-quality content pieces weekly, including reels, carousels, graphics, and educational posts.
  • Ensure daily content publication across all designated platforms in accordance with the content calendar.

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in managing and growing social media accounts for brands or key individuals.
  • Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, and Substack.
  • A track record of success evidenced by performance metrics such as audience growth, engagement rates, reach, impressions, conversions, or revenue attribution.
  • Previous experience working with brands in the health and wellness sector, with a preference for those focused on functional health, nutrition, hormone health, integrative medicine, longevity, or health coaching.

Must-Haves

  • At least 3 years of professional social media management experience.
  • A portfolio showcasing successful management of multiple social media accounts.
  • The ability to present case studies or data illustrating measurable growth and performance.
  • Prior experience with health and wellness brands, particularly those in functional health coaching.
  • Exceptional writing and communication abilities.
  • A strong understanding of audience acquisition strategies and content marketing principles.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple projects concurrently while adhering to deadlines.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with health & wellness brands or consumer packaged goods (CPG).
  • Background working with subscription-based or membership models.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and long-form content marketing.
  • Knowledge of functional medicine, nutrition, hormone health, or longevity research.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with creative teams, video editors, and graphic designers.

How You'll Work

This is a remote, part-time contract position compensated via a monthly retainer. You will have substantial autonomy over the social media strategy while working closely with the Fractional CMO and the marketing team. We seek an individual who is not only capable of executing tasks but also proactively contributes innovative ideas, identifies emerging opportunities, and actively shapes the future trajectory of the Be Balanced brand.
