About the role
Benefit Cosmetics is seeking a creative, social-first and commercially minded Social & Content Manager to elevate its digital presence across Australia and New Zealand. This is a hands-on content role for someone who can spot trends early, produce attention-grabbing videos, and turn audience insights into stronger brand outcomes.
The role spans TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, and requires end-to-end ownership of social content — from brainstorming ideas and filming through to editing, publishing and performance review. The successful person will also be comfortable appearing on camera as a face of the brand.
Reporting to the Marketing Director, this position will help define how Benefit presents itself online, with the goal of lifting brand awareness, engagement and conversion through content that feels bold, fun and unmistakably Benefit.
Social strategy
- Build and deliver the social content plan across both organic and paid media.
- Lead campaign launches and always-on content streams that support engagement and commercial results.
- Use testing, insights and learnings to keep improving content performance.
Content creation
- Take charge of the full content workflow, from idea development and filming to editing and posting.
- Produce platform-specific content for TikTok and Instagram for major launches and ongoing activity.
- Record content at events, influencer activities and in-store experiences.
- Express the Benefit brand personality in every piece of content created.
Calendar and community
- Manage the monthly content calendar to maintain a steady stream of fresh, relevant and trend-aware posts.
- Engage with the online community by responding promptly and authentically to comments, direct messages and conversations.
Trends, innovation and performance
- Stay on top of beauty and social trends to keep the brand current and competitive.
- Trial new formats, tools and platforms to strengthen content quality and reach.
- Measure, analyse and report on performance data, then use those insights to improve future content.
Profile
Experience in social media and content creation is required, with beauty industry background considered an advantage. The role also calls for practical experience producing video-led content for TikTok and Instagram, along with managing channels end to end, including analytics and reporting.
Strong technical and creative capability is needed for filming, editing and storytelling, with experience using CapCut and Canva Pro. Confidence in applying makeup and creating a variety of beauty looks on camera is also important.
A strong grasp of social platforms, trends and engagement drivers is essential, as is the ability to work across teams, communicate clearly and translate data into practical action. Understanding of the influencer and media environment in Australia and New Zealand will be valuable.
The ideal candidate is highly enthusiastic about makeup, especially brows, and social media. They should be creative, energetic, proactive and positive, with a collaborative mindset and the flexibility to contribute beyond standard office hours for events, launches and content shoots.
