Job description
Role overview
This position oversees an on-site team of 6 technicians in the Sandyford/Leopardstown area. The main focus is to make sure planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and repair work are delivered on schedule and to a high standard.
The role follows a 39-hour weekly rota, covering shifts between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. The Site Supervisor is also responsible for arranging team coverage across those hours.
Key accountabilities
- Lead and supervise 6 technicians working on site.
- Ensure all planned maintenance is completed within deadlines and in line with the service level agreement.
- Support the team with on-site issues and escalate unresolved repairs to the appropriate manager or department.
- Spot maintenance problems early and take action to reduce equipment downtime.
- Use the client CAFM system, update tasks proactively, and close work orders accurately; full system training will be provided.
- Coordinate subcontractors on site while maintaining all health and safety standards.
- Help with quotation and purchasing-related queries.
- Maintain accurate records in the CAFM (Computer Aided Facility Management) system; training will be provided.
- Source spare parts and, where needed, obtain supplier pricing to keep systems operating correctly.
- Follow all health and safety, environmental, and quality legal requirements.
- Support safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement objectives.
- Carry out occasional ad hoc projects and repair work as needed.
- Complete any training requested by management in a timely manner and remain open to continuing professional development.
- Learn all site systems required to perform the role safely and efficiently.
- Adapt to changing site, client, and business needs as required.
- Represent the company professionally and maintain a neat, tidy appearance.
- Look after company tools and plant, keeping them in safe working order and reporting defects.
- Carry out non-electrical tasks when needed to support the wider team.
- Use issued PPE correctly and report any defects or extra PPE needs.
- Undertake any other duties required to support business efficiency.
Experience and qualifications
Applicants should have at least 5 years of maintenance experience in a similar role and environment, along with a technical background and/or relevant qualification.
Useful additional credentials include SOLAS Safe Pass, Qualified Certifier (QC) or C&G verification certificate, health and safety qualifications such as IOSH or equivalent H&S training, FETAC Level 6 Emergency Lighting commissioner's certificate, RGII registration or qualification, QQI FGAS certificate(s), C&G Portable Appliance Tester Certificate, HV/MV experience or qualifications such as C&G HV AP Certificate, FGAS certification, ECDL or other basic IT qualifications such as Microsoft certifications, and additional engineering qualifications at QQI Level 6, 7, 8 or 9. Qualifications from outside Ireland that are recognised under the Bologna framework may be accepted instead of a QQI-approved qualification. Relevant non-engineering or H&S qualifications recognised by QQI, or equivalent evidence of experience, may also be considered.
A full clean driving licence is required, as travel to other sites within the contract may be necessary.
Work environment
This is a site-based role in the Sandyford/Leopardstown area, with responsibility for team rostering and regular coordination with technicians, subcontractors, and site stakeholders.
