Job description
Role Overview
Join Compass Community as a Site Manager dedicated to maintaining and securing our school and children’s residential home environments. You will ensure that facilities are safe, well-kept, and compliant, supporting a welcoming atmosphere for children, staff, and visitors.
Key Duties
- Perform routine repairs such as carpentry, plumbing, and painting.
- Conduct inspections and swiftly address maintenance concerns.
- Assist in adhering to health and safety protocols, including fire safety and water hygiene.
- Maintain external areas including playgrounds, pathways, and parking lots.
- Manage site security procedures like opening/closing and emergency responses.
- Record maintenance activities and participate in audits and inspections.
- Support school events and collaborate respectfully with all stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
- Hands-on experience in building maintenance or caretaking roles.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety standards.
- Competence in completing minor repairs safely and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously.
- A flexible, reliable, and child-centered approach.
Additional Preferences
- Experience within educational institutions is advantageous.
- Holding basic trade qualifications or NVQs is preferred.
- Knowledge of fire safety and water hygiene protocols is beneficial.
Requirements
- Possession of a full UK driving license if required for multi-site duties.
- Willingness to obtain enhanced DBS clearance.
- Basic IT skills sufficient for job logging and email communication.
Working Hours and Flexibility
This is a full-time position with some flexibility needed for occasional work outside standard hours.
